At Genesee Family Dentistry, we believe in personalized care, which is why we start
every dental implant treatment with a comprehensive consultation. During your
consultation, Dr. Nazarian will examine your mouth, review your medical history, and take X-rays and scans to assess the health of your jawbone and gums. Based on this information, we will develop a customized treatment plan that fits your unique needs.
The dental implant procedure itself involves several important steps. First, Dr. Nazarian will place the implant into your bone. Depending on your case, you could need a bone graft or sinus lift to ensure there is enough support for the implant. Once the post is placed, it will take a few months for the implant to fuse with the bone in a process called
osseointegration. During this time, you will wear a temporary restoration to protect the implant and allow your gums to heal.
Once the implant is fully integrated, Dr. Nazarian will attach an abutment to the post, which serves as a connector between the implant and the dental restoration. Finally, he will place a dental crown, bridge, or denture on top of the abutment, restoring your
smile's function and aesthetics.
